Needless to say, your volunteering will create much value and positive change in the lives of many young people in Shangri-La. In addition to your personal fulfillment from your commitment to give back to the world, you will also be able to :
- Learn some Mandarin or Tibetan
- Learn and appreciate the local Chinese and Tibetan Culture
- Make new friends from local communities
- Enjoy the beauty of the pristine Shangri-La

We are looking for volunteers who can teach these young people:
- Conversational English
- Basic computer skills
- Basic accounting skills
- Basic management skills
As a volunteer, we will help you set up local room and board. The cost for room and board in Shangri-La is approximately USD$250 a month. Therefore your total cost to volunteer is your travel cost from your home town to Shangri-La plus your room and board. In summary, your total cost includes:
- Roundtrip Airfare from your home town to Beijing, China
- Two nights hotel in Beijing for round trip transit
- Roundtrip Airfare from Beijing to Shangri-La
- Room and Board in Shangri-La
- Personal expenses

Peregrine Travel has generously agreed to make a donation to Youth For Shangri-La for every client that uses their service to travel to Shangri-La for this program.
Each ETTI Training Session (one in the fall and one in the spring) runs about 3 months. My Youth For Shangri-La project, which serves as an enhancement program for the ETTI Spring Session, starts from the last week of June. We are looking for Volunteers:
- Minimum of 18 years old. Young people between ages 14-17 are welcomed, but must travel with guardian.
- With Good health. Able to adapt to the high altitude of over 12,000 feet at Shangri-La.
- Able to fund for the travel, room and board of the volunteer.
- Able to adapt to a new environment, and be committed to offering community service to help young people in Shangri-La.

The YFSL program is free to participant Tibetan students. It costs USD$600 for the 16-week training program including room and board for each participating student.
You can specify your donation as follow:
- USD 600 will sponsor ONE student for the 16 weeks training
- USD 300 will sponsor ONE HALF of a student for the 16 weeks training
- USD 200 will sponsor ONE THIRD of a student for the 16 weeks training
- Any amount of donation you can make is much appreciated.
